MAYBE I'M AMAZED
Maybe I’m Amazed…..that it took Steve Urban so long to leave the Republican party. Going back to the days of Governor Fine and Senator T. Newell Wood, the GOP has always played ball with the Democratic power structure. Urban has always been a lone runner and is a credible candidate and office holder. Can you imagine if Urban and Frank Scavo ever formed a fusion ticket? LuLac land will never be the same.
Maybe I’m Amazed…..that Scranton City Council and its President, Janet Evans came up with a budget that cut taxes. I’m dying to know how. And if the answer is not that hard, I’m amazed that it wasn’t done sooner.
Maybe I’m Amazed……that Luzerne County Prison employees get clothing allowances because they might get damaged at work. Unreal. As Bob Dole used to say, “Where is the outrage?”
Maybe I’m Amazed……that Jim Haggerty, after all his work on the Home Rule Committee is actually being challenged for the Chairmanship? I mean what ever happened to gratitude.
Maybe I’m Amazed……that Rush Limbaugh was telling a caller who was unemployed the other day that he (the caller) should set aside part of his unemployment check to invest in a business. Yeah, he could do that if he didn’t have a health premium and food to buy. The Limbaughs of the world and their mindless sycophants think that life is easy when you don’t have a job. It’s easy to think that way when you make 32 million a year spouting inaccuracies and hate.
Maybe I’m Amazed…..that Cliff Lee chose the Phillies over the Yankees. One of my favorite Phillies from tat ’64 team, Reuben Amaro Senior must have imparted some baseball knowledge to his kid along the way.
Maybe I’m Amazed….that after years of angst, this could be the year the eagles win a Super Bowl. Andy Reid seems alive on the field and the Birds have an added set of offensive components they did not have with Donovan McNabb.
Maybe I’m Amazed……that Christmas is nearly here. It comes quick and exits just as rapidly.

If Scranton Council did so well with its revised budget just think what things might look like if they kept the cuts proposed by Mayor Dogerty! I understand several of those positions were vacant. Now that the spots remain will they be filled...for safety of course Janet! And aren't you amazed that so many communities get along just fine with volunteer fire departments with no expensive contracts?
Urban would never team up with someone like Scavo. Everyone he's ever run with was a guaranteed also-ran. Urban has always been out for himself, and this is part of some plan to get himself elected to something else.
Maybe the prisoners get the allowance so they can have some of their uniforms at the dry cleaners and still have 2 or 3 sets in their cells.Next they will get monies for that dry cleaning charge. Is there room for us at the prison??
seems Rush Limbaugh may have been correct on his evaluation of Donovan McNabb all those years ago. P
