IOWA STRAW RESULTS

The Iowa Straw poll is nothing more than a type of indicator as to where various candidacies are going for the caucus the following year. The Straw poll is a feature of the Iowa State Fair. Here are the results:
Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann won a test vote of Iowans on Saturday, a show of strength five months before the state's caucuses kick off the GOP presidential nominating season.
The result is the first indication of what Iowans think of the field of Republicans competing for the chance to challenge President Barack Obama next fall. But it's hardly predictive of who will win the winter Iowa contest, much less the party nod or the White House.
Rather, Saturday's outcome suggests that Bachmann has a certain level of support and, perhaps even more important, the strongest get-out-the-vote operation and widest volunteer base in a state whose caucuses require those elements.
Texas Rep. Ron Paul finished second, ahead of former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty in third. Rick Santorum finished fourth, Herman Cain fifth, newly declared secessionist Rick Perry got a few write ins and Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney (who did not compete) brought up the rear.

SANTORUM 4TH

Former Senator Rick Santorum finished fourth in the straw poll. Many pundits are saying that Santorum’s 4th place finish was stronger than Tim Pawlenty’s third. The former Minnesota governor has spent a lot of money and Santorum has been doing his effort with old fashioned shoe leather. Santorum told MSNBC that he is building organizations leading up to the caucus IN 2012. Here’s what Santorum said tonight:
Today in Iowa has been a victory for America's moral foundation! Many predicted that I would come in dead last, but I surprised the political chattering class by coming in 4th place in the Ames, Iowa Straw Poll.
Our victory is the reminder and the story that America needs today. President Barack Obama promised hope and change in 2008, however, all we got was a President that did not believe in America, her core values or her strongest asset – her citizens. Me, my family and our entire campaign staff and volunteers traveled the state of Iowa through the "Ring of Fire." Unlike many candidates, I do not fear traveling to the "unknown" areas of any state. To lead you must be willing to listen and be authentic. This win of 4th place in Iowa has shown that the voters of Iowa met me, liked me and trust my beliefs are the ones they and America need to get our great country back on track from Obama's lack of leadership.
I have said it all across the state of Iowa and I will continue to say it as I travel and take the fight to New Hampshire & South Carolina – 2012 is about Leadership, Not Showmanship.

Former Pennsylvania US Senator Rick Santorum seems to have fallen off his gay bashing wagon. This past week while listing the ills of a particular foreign country, one of the things he mentioned is how they trash gay rights! Say what? Who has trashed gay rights more than Phony Ricky? The same guy who kept an empty house as his permanent residence while he charge the local school district for his children's education in Virginia? Give me a break, the guy is as phony as the election efforts of Sarah Palin.

So I'm watching Meet the Press today with the Bachmann person. David Gregory hasked her about extending unemployment benefits. She says "we don't have the money". I'm working but this summer had two temporary layoffs because business was slow. I'm going to give my vote to this little rich bitch who's husband got government money for his business? And she tells me we can't afford unemployment insurance in case I get laid off?
No thank you. She's off my list.

Only once in the history of the Ames Straw Polls that winner became President. Only two winners have ever won the primaries!

Santorum is a nut case and we all know it! It's the main reason we fied his butt from representing us in the senate. Now he thinks he can be President? That would without question, cause revolution in the streets.

Students, it has now become clear that the REpublican nomination is down to three: Ms. Bachmann, who has inspired throngs of people who may well never have voted but will now. Mr. Perry, who has done more for job creation in one month than the President has done in three years adn MR. Romney, who also has created many jobs and who, in my humble opine will be the nominee in the end and ultimately, President.
Class, we are however, missing the point. Instead of pondering, as the talking heads do, who will be the nominee we should compare the quality of each of these three individuals with that of the present occupant of the Oval Office.
Need I say more????
America is in trouble. Interest rates will skyrocket, MOrtgage rates in particular. Gas prices are going to the moon (as you all know when you ask your parents for gas money) and Americas prestige is hurting aroudn the world.
Not to mention that we are in debt to Red China who along with India is quick on the road to outpace us as the number one superpower of the world.
All under Mr. Obama's watch.
Need I say more????
We seem to criticize the GOP tea party for being serious on debt reduction, and yet, when the tale is told, debt reduction is the only thing that will save our nation.
We are quickly on tract to becoming a third world power. The S & P downgrade is only the first volley fired against freedom and liberty. We now are in a war far more serious than any in our history and sadly, and I emphasize, sadly, we lack a good leader in that war.
HOwever, students, let it not be said that your old professor is lecturing doom. ALas, we still maintain the power of the ballot and that power in November of 2012 will liberate us of our plight.
When Ms. Bachmann, Mr. Perry or more likely Mr. ROmney raises his/her hand on the bible on Inauguration Day 2013 we shall see a whole rebirth of our morals, values, and conscience, not to mention our economy. I just hope that Chief Justice Roberts gets the oath right this time.
You see class, even old conservative fogies like me can criticize a Republican from time to time.
Have I made my point.
You may go back to your daydreaming now.
Class Dismissed!!!!!!!!!!

Listen to what people vote on. Anything to suck the producing class dry. ****ing leach, give me my unemployment. And don't try and argue that you pay into it. UEC withholding is only .008% of the employees wages. The rest is paid for by the employer. So not only paying for those who work I have to carry your no load leach ass.

"Professor" (who apparently never made it to community college, you always ask whether you should say more and you shouldn't.

The "Professor," is a dumb ass if he thinks that America will elect ANY republican after Bush drove us off a cliff. Trying to blame Obama for this entire mess is like trying to blame the ice that fell on the deck of the Titanic for its sinking!

Just think Obama has been more like Bush than any republican would have. Amped up the bailout, increased troops overseas. Obama deserves to go just because he is w.bush's 3rd term.
