Rated one of Pennsylvania's top blog/sites, the LuLac Political Letter delves into issues of politics on all levels (with special concentration on Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties: thus the name LULAC) and pop culture. The LuLac Political Letter was also named Best Political Blog of the Year for 2014 by NEPA BLOGCON and most recently David Yonki was named Best Blogger of the year 2015 by the publication Diamond City.

Oh yes my dear friend summer is leaving us. By the end of this month we will have 1 hour less of day light.
Good morning students,
I hope you are quickly recovering from your 4th of July hangovers. Although I sense very few of you know anything about the holiday's significance, other than drinking excess amounts of alcohol and shooting off illegal fireworks.
The business of this classroom goes forward....
Students,
I had the fortune of celebrating Independence Day in New England. As I was sailing on the bay in a friends yacht, viewing the pristine atmosphere whilst taking in the salty air I could not help but to reflect on America and the loss of her values.
Patriotism has given way to selfishness. Knowledge has given way to ignorance. American institutions such as banks have been deemed as villianous. Corporate leaders once admired for their fortitude have now been branded as robber barons.
How did this happen?
The answer is quite simple. The liberal idea/form of government that reared its ugly head seventy years ago via the New Deal slowly began to evaporate American ingenuity. Like a cancer, through various Administrations it began to grow while eating away at the very essence of what made this nation great. A solid dollars pay for A SOLID DOLLARS WORK.
THe question is: How do we get back to where we need be????
It will not be easy. I will admit that even Republicans played a part in this monster created by the Democrats. But my instincts are telling me there are new deputies in town at DC. REpublicans who say what they mean and mean what they say.
Cuts will be made to wasteful programs....Medicare and Social Security--nothing more than welfare for the elderly (who did not save in their fomidable years as they knew a check would come someday) will ultimately be eliminated. And the health care law which would impose a huge tax increase will be repealed.
NExt year there will be a new Sheriff in Town. Sheriff Mitt Romney who will with his common sense possee, eradicate the waste, restore the common sense and above all, keep us safe from harm.
Something to think about this morning......
Class Dismissed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How can you possibly expect your political commentary to be taken seriously when you post sexist-old-man photos on your blog? Are you stuck in the 1950s?

IT'S THE HOLIDAY AND WHAT BETTER WAY TO CELEBRATE THE SUMMER WITH KATE UPTON ON LULAC. IF IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR GQ, IT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR LULAC. AS PER BEING TAKEN SERIOUSLY, PEOPLE YELL WHEN I AM AND THEY OBJECT WHEN I START HAVING SOME FUN. BTW, THIS IS NOT AN OLD MAN PHOTO, IT'S KATE UPTON!!!!
How can you possibly expect your political commentary to be taken seriously when you post sexist-old-man photos on your blog? Are you stuck in the 1950s?
NOPE. I AM PRO CHOICE, PRO WOMEN'S HEALTH, PRO BIGGER SALARIES FOR WOMEN AND CERTAINLY NOT A MAN OF THE 50s. AS ADAM ANT SAID, "DON'T DRINK, DON'T SMOKE". I DO LOVE THE MUSIC OF THE 60s THOUGH. THANKS FOR READING, COOL OFF AND HAVE AN ICE POP.
Are you stuck in the 1950s
Why do you equate "having fun" with posting a tit shot of a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model on a political blog that aspires to credibility in the region and beyond? Are you aiming for an unsophisticated, backward-thinking male audience? Have you considered that posting photos of sexualized women demeans the content and credibility of your political analysis, especially outside the cave man culture of NEPA?
My dear "Professor",
I notice that you're now calling Obamacare a tax. Well, if it's a tax, then since Obamacare is the national version of Romneycare, that means Mitt Romney raised taxes in Massachusetts... which we all knew, but Romney never admitted to and told us all the opposite...
If only there was some video of Mitt Romney from his time as governor saying that mandate-style health care bill "wasn't a tax, but a fee"... OH WAIT! THERE IS!

Google rocks. Class dismissed, bro.

The reason why that photo is up, here's my take. Yonki really wanted to do that on the 4th but his overwhelming sense of history dictated otherwise. However, like his political heroes...JFK, RFK, Clinton, Nelson Rockefeller et al, he just couldn't resist. He then insults our intelligence by insisting its all about the popsicle. But I bet he's getting some pretty good hits because after all, stratically placed popsicles do sell!!!
I get it Yonk...Kate was a good choice...so beat me.
The day a man can't enjoy a picture like the one of Kate or a woman can't enjoy a similar type of a man is the day this place isn't worth living in.
Dave didn't post porn and I resent ANYONE'S assumption that I will think of that picture as anything other than what it is!!!
Time to desensitize and enjoy what ya got.
A few things, Yonki writes two compelling pieces on the Health Care Bill. No one else who is blogging had the work ethic to do it, lay it out. A few comments. Then he p8ublishes a photo of Kate Upton and all hell breaks loose. Funny. In the 70s, Penthouse Mag. did a huge series on the Trilateral Commission. Jimmy Carter gave an interview to Playboy. So did Johnny Carson. But did anyone doubts the bonafides of the reporting? The stories? LuLac is a political blog but Yonk also touches on pop culture because more than any person in this area doing this and certainly more than the young cadre of reporters on TV, Yonk can reference history with today. If he wasn't alive, he access it. I'm sure if Yonk and LuLac was of age in the 50s you'd see Marilyn Monroe on the site. As Archie Bell and the Drells said, "Lighten Up".
Hey dummy 10:03.......Yonk had a lot of comments on Health Care. Read please.

IT WAS ACTUALLY "TIGHTEN UP", NOT "LIGHTEN UP" BY ARCHIE BELL AND THE DRELLS. AND I WAS MORE OF A ROSEMARY CLOONEY MAN MYSELF.
