LABOR DAY 2013

Labor Day marks the time in America where most view it as a final holiday of the summer.
To others without work, it can be a day of despair and hope. Despair for the long term unemployed, hope to those still looking for work.
It is a day of frustration for those who aren't happy with their jobs.
For those counting down the days, even minutes to retirement it is a day of anticipation.
Labor Day is also a day for employees to evaluate their worth to the company but in the economy, keeping it to themselves might be a good thing if they feel undervalued.
More Americans are working longer hours for less pay than ever before.
In the past 15 years, wages for workers have stagnated. Costs and prices have increased.
There are some who work 40 hour weeks.
There are some who work 33 hours weeks and are abhorred at the possibility that they might have to increase that to 37 and a half hours.
Labor Day is different things to many people. Unlike the Fourth of July, or Memorial Day, Labor Day is a holiday where one takes personal inventory of their success, their failure or in the case of many Americans, their stagnation.
But whatever the case, most people celebrating this day in the U.S. would rather be commemorating it here, than anywhere else in the world.
Happy Labor Day.

Jesus Christ, I want to put a bullet in my brain after reading this.
NOT MY INTENTION, JUST THE REALITY OF LABOR IN AMERICA TODAY.

Alright, enough is enough! Fact is in recent county contract negotiations, unionized employees were willing to forgo raises and requested a 40 hour workweek! Management refused to even consider this proposal and in subsequent arbitration hearings adamantly fought any suggestion of a 40 hour workweek.
Yonk, if you are the purveyor of truth, please find the truth.
