2014 ELECTION WRAP UP

WOLF WINS

WOLF VOTE MIRRORS CARTWRIGHT 2012 WIN IN LULAC LAND

It used to be that when the Democratic power brokers, you know the State Senators and the Teachers Union big wigs went for a candidate, Democrats fell in line like good foot soldiers. But things changed in 2012 when the Democratic wise men said, "Tim Holden, not Cartwright".
Rank and file Democrats chose Cartwright for their Congressman.
This year Democrats were told Rob McCord is our guy for Governor. The teachers unions said "It's Rob". Local Democrats said, nope. Instead,  a groundswell began for Tom Wolf. His first hire was Exeter Mayor Cassandra Coleman Corcoran. She had to twist arms to get an audience with the powers that be to even introduce Wolf. Yep, Wolf is good but we want McCord.
Nope.
Democrats, a free thinking bunch voted for Wolf.
A shout out to Coleman, and Representatives Eddie Day Pashinski, Phyllis Mundy and Attorney Bill Vinsko for coming out for Wolf. In Lackawanna County a shout out to former Commissioner Mike Washo, and Recorder of Deeds Evie Refalko McNulty for standing tall for Wolf.
What's that pitter patter of little feet you hear? The big shots trying to get on the Wolf bandwagon.
Congrats to Mr. Wolf.

Yonk, The Dumbacrat big wigs (who ever they are) did it again. They could have become part of the "Wolf Pack" but they chose McCord. WHY? WOLF HAD THE MONEY, THE POITICAL HISTORY AND SUPER AD CAMPAIGN but the local big wigs and the unions walked away with dirt in their hands and mud on their faces. McCord is not a bad candidate but his negative TV did hurt him. In my own house, my son was concerned knowing that I support unions that and he belongs to a union that I would be for McCord so when he asked me what I thought he was relieved because he thought that if a negative ATV ad is how you plan to win they he was going with Wolf who impressed him anyway.

And the Lackawanna majority voters did the right thing, they sent the Volpe machine packing. Looks like they can read the valley papers and can see what a mess Luzerne county is in. They chose the commissioner form of government and they get to pick who runs the show. Here in La La land, we have a useless council, a mini king as a manager who again went outside the area to find a manager is now taking on the court system that absolutely has the law on their side. The county sets the amount of money the courts et but the Supreme Court has made it clear that the courts sp;end their allotted money the way they see fit, just so they don't spend more than they are allotted.

All in all, it was a good day for me. I'm sorry you didn't see the Volpe gang go down but it was a stupid form of government. They made it so that 6/7s of the voters could not change the council. Is that where we need to be? The majority does not rule? Now go tend to the millions of dollars daddy Volpe left to Jr. and let him stay out of government.

People in Lackawanna County saw Chuck Volpe and his one man financed plan to change government in the County for what it was, a power grab. Again they wisely rejected Volpe and his plan along with his cries of, Im only doing this for better government. They saw Volpe and saw thru him. A good decision based on common sense and character.

Yonki, you looked great on TV and were on the top of your game.
And thank you, thank you, thank you for calling out the Democratic party "I got mine" guys. There is no imagination or any sense of taking a chance. These people would make perfect cadets marching off a cliff.
The Democratic party needs new leaders, Shubilla, Coleman and Vinsko ca bring this party into the 21st century.
The only reasons why these dunderheads are in power is the weakness of the GOP.
But the County Council should be the canary in the coal mine. If the GOP could put across Dobash and almost that other lady from that area, sorry don't remember her name, these big shots could be had.
Go Wolf and if I see one of these jokers making nice with Wolf, I'll call them out.

Disgusted Luzerne Dem

Heard you on WILK's Sue Henry program. What an awful candidate to go against Cartwright Loved your comment that Cartwright is now in his first term where Kanjo was in his 10th. Paper tigers all. Go Matt Cartwright. Relax, you're in.

Mr Media Man- Take a breather. That’s another election behind ya. Very pleased with the rejection of Volpe up here. Heard Haggerty on Corbett and he was scary. Corbett didn’t bait him or treat him disrespectfully. He just
asked a simple question again and again. You cant claim to be a Marine or a Soldier if you didn’t make the cut. I
always remember Arlen Specter on WILK when asked about his service. He said he was a Korean War Veteran of stateside service! A Classic.
As an Indie I got a sheet with one questin on it, yes or no, but I voted. Don’t like Wolf one bit but you know what I think of Corbett. Again a case of voting against rather than for a candidate.
