IT’S A MORATORIUM!!!

Governor Tom Wolf announced last week he was putting a moratorium on the death penalty in Pennsylvania. The definition of the word moratorium is this: a temporary prohibition of an activity. You would think that he is saying that all death penalties will be reduced to life. This Friday!
You would think that it would prohibit prosecutors from going for the maximum sentence. It won’t. The Governor is going to study this issue and see how this could be handled most efficiently and cost effectively.
Was the timing of this in NEPA problematic with Hugo Selenski getting convicted of two brutal murders and Eric Freine now trying to form a defense of the indefensible acts he committed?
Some say yes. But the fact is it is simply now a moratorium. The Death penalty is prohibited for right now. Let’s remember that before we leap to any conclusions just yet.

LUZERNE COUNTY GOP TO HOST LINCOLN DAY BREAKFAST

In honor of our nation’s first Republican President, the Republican Party of Luzerne County will host a Lincoln Day Breakfast on Saturday, February 28, 2014 at 9:00 AM at the Genetti Hotel and Convention Center in Wilkes-Barre.
A donation of $20.00 per person is payable at the door.

WARDLE HAS SIGNING PARTY

Tom Wardle candidate for Magistrate in the 11-03-08 District had a signing party tonight at the PAV (Polish American Veterans). Wardle is running for the seat being vacated by Diane Malast.Joe Spagnuolo Jr. had a similar event tonight. Another entry into the race is Dominick Feola, a 27 year old Democrat from Plains.
Wardle has an event set for Friday night at the Cafe, route 315 Plaza, right across from the Woodlands. Checks are payable to Tom Wardle for Magistrate.
