The LuLac Edition #2947, June 15th, 2015
It has come to my attention that Commissioner O’Malley may have sent a political mailer to select individuals based on their success or failure in receiving their political party’s nomination at the most recent Primary Election using taxpayer-funded printing and postage services.
Coincidentally, this appears to have occurred days before The Scranton Times-Tribune highlighted Commissioner O’Malley’s previous use of taxpayer resources for political purposes, his subsequent reimbursement for the costs associated with his abuse of the public trust, and then-City Democratic Chairman Jerry Notariani’s correct condemnation of the same (The Scranton Times-Tribune, 6/13/15).
This pattern of abuse is troubling and unethical, at a minimum. I call on Commissioner O’Malley to immediately disclose the full and true cost associated with this political mailing and once again reimburse the taxpayers for the cost of his political printing, processing, and/or postage.
