AND THEY’RE OFF

GOVERNOR’S RACE 2018

What? We just finished the craziest Presidential race in history and now we’re talking about a Governor’s race? Here? Really?
Really.
One of the first GOP contenders to throw his hat in the ring is a State Senator named Scott Wagner from York. This State Senator is not to be confused with former State Senator and Auditor General Jack Wagner a Democrat.
Wagner will make stops in the state on the 11th and 12th. The closest one to us will be in Frackville.

District Judge Paul Roberts is retiring and a grand daughter of a former GOP powerhouse and State Senator Frank O’Connell is throwing her hat into the ring. —GOP heavyweights District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis, state Rep. Aaron Kaufer and Forty Fort Mayor Andy Tuzinski, were on hand. The official Magisterial District is 11-1-05.
Phillips, 37, wants to succeed Paul J. Roberts in the district, which encompasses Kingston and Edwardsville boroughs. The primary is May 16th. According to the Times Leader Phillips called herself a “prosecutor” and not a “politician”.

TRUMP ON RUSSIA

"Having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing. Only "stupid" people, or fools, would think that it is bad!"

REAGAN ON RUSSIA
“Trust but verify”.

It was the perception that, one I am sure you would have shared if he were alive today, candidate Reagan was "unpredictable" that allowed president Reagan to get the Soviet leadership to open a dialogue.
It was President Reagan's willingness to sit down with Soviet Chairman Gorbachev that allowed for an open dialogue between the two super powers and allow a softening of the cold war.
It was President Reagan's commitment to a strong US military the eventually collapsed the Soviet Union, bringing down the Berlin wall and allowing many who were suffocating under the Iron Curtain to breath freedom.

There were so many who doubted Reagan's ability to handle the office, and while of course not all good, many positives came from a man of his great conviction.
And, hence the biggest problem with Trump. His only perceived genuine conviction is the promotion of Donald J. Trump.
Only time will tell.
