Senator Pat Toomey had a Town Hall meeting but it was by invitation ONLY. People who wanted to talk about the issue of the day, Health Care were locked out. Then they were arrested for trespassing because the little cowardly Senator didn’t want to get his little itty bitty feelings hurt.
Or be called a fraud.
Dozens of protesters gathered Wednesday evening outside the studio of ABC 27 News in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where Sen. Pat Toomey was participating in a TV town hall, and demanded the Republican from Pennsylvania vote against the Senate health care bill.
Videos showed police wheeling away protesters in wheelchairs after they blocked the studio’s entrance. Harrisburg police told PennLive six people were arrested and charged with simple trespassing.
Asked during Wednesday’s invitation-only town hall about the protesters outside, Toomey said, “We have a difference of opinion on how best to go forward on health care.”
“I’ve met folks who disagree with me from all walks of life. And there’s a lot of people who agree that we should move in a different direction. Fundamentally, I think Obamacare has failed us.” (Source: Huffington Post)
Then Toomey talked about the CBO Score and said that the information he didn’t agree with came from a Hillary Clinton staffer who was very actively involved in the health care bill of the 90s.
Here’s my questions on that foolish statement.
1. How does he know that?
2. A CBO score is bi partisan and yet he calls out ONE member-Pat, Hillary lost, her former staff people are only that.
3. He then said that stated staffer makes assumptions about the bill. He just made assumptions about her because he has nothing else.
Toomey danced around health care issue and pretty much proved what a little spineless wuss he really is.
Real Senators take the heat.
Real Senators confront the issues head on with courage.
Real Senators don’t lock people out.
In Pennsylvania, I’m afraid we not only have an unreal Republican Senator but a very puny man!
Hey Coward Pat Toomey, here’s one for you. “Let “Em In”.
What was stunning was the way Christie decided to go to the Beach himself and hang out. Being a Governor from Jersey isn’t bad work. He has a mansion and then a home on the beach. All at taxpayer expense.
So when he gets caught enjoying the sun and surf, he complains that it isn’t a story. He says that he didn’t get sun because he had a baseball cap on. He said that the bigger story would have been if he had a 25 year woman next to him instead of his own wife. He said that his job was tough and that he never got much time to spend with his family and friends.
Poor baby!
All those people who work over 40 hours a week and wanted to do the same thing he did Sunday work hard too. They miss their families too. They want to spend more time with them but most likely have to work overtime or work two jobs to keep guys like Christie living in the style he is accustomed to.
The big thing though is Christie never owned up. He acted like someone who was “entitled”.
This is your REPUBLICAN party today. Chris Christie is a shining example. “I got mine, now you go ahead and get yours!”
In the next few weeks we’ll be doing a few 50 year editions of the year 1967. There were many events that helped shape the world that year and you’ll read about some of them.
Check out this video from two months ago regarding a George Will column where he quotations Donald Trump’s ability to handle, process and communicate basic information.
U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright re-introduced a bill that would protect older, low-income veterans from financial scams. The bipartisan Veterans Care Financial Protection Act would direct the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) to work with other federal agencies and states to develop and implement standards that protect veterans from predatory practices. Reps. Seth Moulton (MA-06), Jim Renacci (OH-16), Steve Cohen (TN-09), and Ted Deutch (FL-22) were original co-sponsors of this legislation.
The VA offers an Aid & Attendance (A&A) benefit for veterans who qualify for a VA pension, and need financial help with in-home care or assisted living. The A&A application is free, but scam artists have targeted veterans and charged them to obtain these benefits. With this information, scammers can take ahold of the veteran’s assets, and may even move them into an irrevocable trust or an annuity. This movement of assets may also disqualify the veteran from other assistance, such as Medicaid.
“These scams are completely unacceptable and appalling,” said Rep. Cartwright. “There needs to be greater protections for our nation’s heroes. This bill will put a stop to these predatory financial scams, and help ensure veterans receive their hard-earned benefits.”
U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) introduced companion legislation in the Senate.
"The Aid and Attendance program is a critical lifeline for the thousands of older veterans who just need a helping hand for basic daily activities," said Senator Warren. "Unfortunately, the program is being undermined by scams, putting our veterans at even greater financial risk and wasting taxpayer dollars. This legislation will help put a stop to these financial scams and ensure that we honor our commitments to our veterans."

Come on Dave, while the Chris Christie on the beach looks bad, it is a non story.
The beach house, like it or not, is a perk much like Camp David.
Christie doesn't even reside in the governor's mansion full time.
Did anyone complain when Joe Biden, the vice-president, used Camp David during a government shut down? Hopefully not, these are areas reserved for government officials, they are perks of jobs that come with a great deal of prestige and responsibility.
To quote Kevin Lynn, we keep getting distracted by shiny objects.
Neither Toomey nor his fellow Republicans care about who loses their health care insurance. REpublican voters, you're getting what you deserve.

I hope you're on blood pressure meds and some Xanax or Valium for your anger management. You've turned into a very grumpy old man! Calm down, I like reading your column. I don't want you to stroke out or anything.
If Toomey's afraid now, wait until his party gets up the nerve to actually pass something.
The best and only solution for dealing with Toomey is for everyone to do everything they can to make sure Toomey and his pitiful party is in the minority after the 2018 election.

Poster, poster, poster!
Blood pressure very good. I had the opportunity to take those relaxation drugs when I had the auto accident in '99. I choose to go with pain and hobbling.
I'm the calmest I've ever been in my life.
I am not a grumpy old man, I'm a happy guy. I survived colon cancer 9 years on now and have my neurological condition under control.
But I will NOT stand by and let the dumbass President who was elected by people who either knew too much or knew too little ruin this country.
If you think this is bad, you should see the shit storms I put on FB and hear the numbskulls (some not all) scream like stuck pigs.
In the next few days everything GETS REAL. I hope he doesn't screw up. I'm 63 and as I calmly (whether you believe it or not) take my last orbits around the earth, there are more days in the rear view mirror.
My job here is to call out the timid souls who won't stand up to the horrible person who we got.
God willing, keep reading because I will keep on doing what I need to do.
With calm in my heart.
Thanks for the concern.
