ALAN HOWE TOWN MEETING
Howe speaking before a group in Plymouth (Photos: Scott Cannon)
The other night in Plymouth, 11th Congressional District candidate Alan Howe stopped by and met with concerned residents of the area. The key thing about Town Halls is that Lou Barletta has STOPPED HOLDING them since Donald Trump got elected. Howe's Republican challenger, to m knowledge hasn't either. Leading off our edition today is video taken by Scott Cannon of Video Innovations from the other night. If you are concerned about the survival of the middle class here in this area, watch this.

THE BARLETTA/REPUBLICAN LIE MACHINE STARTS TO SMEAR BOB CASEY

We received an e mail from the Lou Barletta campaign that is the start of the REPUBLICAN LIE MACHINE.
Under President Trump, the economy is growing at a record rate as more Americans are finding good-paying jobs.
I challenge Lou Barletta to tell me WHERE are the good paying jobs. What record did HE have as A Congressman of bringing GOOD PAYING JOBS to his district? If the economy is GROWING so much under Trump’s 10 months, why hasn’t his good buddy brpught any to his district or the state?
Yet, as Congress works to add to this growth by passing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, Senator Bob Casey continues to obstruct the president’s agenda – at the expense of Pennsylvania’s working families.
If Casey is in the minority then how in the hell did he obstruct the President’s agenda? Here is what Casey is AGAINST.
Here are some reasons why “working people” or “middle-class” families might not receive the large tax cut promised by Trump:
Trump’s plan eliminates the head of household filing status, which provides a larger deduction than the single deduction. That could increase taxes for some single parents.
Large families also could pay more in taxes, because Trump’s plan, which raises the standard deduction, eliminates personal exemptions. That could increase taxes for some families with three or more children.
Trump’s plan cuts off his average $5,000 child care tax deduction at age 13, so families with older children likely would not have their tax bills cut by 30 percent or 35 percent.
Senator Casey, however, continues to work against the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and the many economic benefits it would bring to Pennsylvania. Senator Casey continues to tweet his opposition to the plan, despite its clear benefits to Pennsylvania’s workers and families.
Bob Casey’s tweets are about Pennsylvanians and policy. Not attacking minorities, women or so surly they make a large percentage of Americans.
“Despite the obstruction of Senate Democrats like Bob Casey, President Trump has delivered on his promise to bring back American jobs and create broad-based economic opportunity,” Lou Barletta for Senate Campaign Spokesman Jon Anzur said.
Again here’s my question Jon, where and what are those jobs that your guy brought in? Numbers and facts please?

TRUMP PICKS ON THE WRONG WOMAN

Tuesday our poor babe President who WILK listeners say was bullied since DAY ONE in office sent via Twitter an extremely offensive and sexually-charged rant. Baby Huey went after Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. He wrote that she came to his office in the past, "begging" for campaign contributions and "would do anything" for them.1
Here’s that the bully in chief did. Trump attacked Sen. Gillibrand because she became the fifth senator—and the first woman senator—to demand that he resign because of the numerous allegations of sexual harassment and assault against him.
Trump had no comment when male senators called on him to resign. Again, this President has all the hallmarks of a bully.
Wrong woman to pick on Donnie Boy! You may have ignited a wave that may carry the New York Senator perilously close to your sainted second term.
Sarah Huckleberry Sanders stated that anyone who read sexual assault into this has their mind in the gutter. Well if that’s true, then maybe YOUR PRESIDENT Sarah who you as a woman shamelessly carry his water, might be projecting just a tad bit!

Howe is a guy I can get behind. Does anyone really think a Republican who supports this President is on our side?

Good question Yonk.
Going on 8 years for both Barletta and Marino and WHERE are the JOBS?
Nice to award medals to World War 2 vets and send out press releases and back the right horse in a Presidential election....but if that's all they got, WE ain't got nuthin'!!!!

Congress people don't do much as far as job creation in their district. Kanjo, after how many years, gave us what - a proposed moving sidewalk in Nannycoke and a pipe dream of damming a polluted river to swim in? As far as job creation, he gave about 3 jobs for some fanciful water jet weapon dismantling system, but they were only for his family.
The only thing Chris Carney ever did was piss off Steve Corbett, which I admit was enjoyable.
Someday, well probably not - but maybe, people will realize the only person they can count on to better their situation is that person who looks back at them in the mirror. Sadly, NEPA folks tend to walk around with their palms out, begging for help from the same people whom they spend so much time and effort vilifying.

Barletta is a useless POS Congressman who's only just reward is getting kicked out of any elective position. Many people are angry and tell me he has done absolutely nothing and like his pal Trump plays upon and encourages hatred and division and particularly disparages minorities. Barletta is bad at what he does, believe me.

IN RESPONSE

Palms out??? Are you shitting me? When you think about the jobs Joe McDade brought to the Scranton area from Chamberlain, Flood with the VA, Sherwood and Kanjoo along with Specter saving Tobyhanna, those are JOBS! They create and save them!
On Quality of Life issues, those "palms out loudmouths" who supported Trump and Barletta and Marino were against the Baseball Stadium, the Arena, Steamtown, back in the 50s Route 81, and even Montage.
They benefit from all that, taking their sainted grandchildren to the things they vilely opposed.
Right now the ingrates are so brainwashed by the REPUBLICAN philosophy of "I got mine, now you get yours" don't know the difference between economic development and their rear ends.
Palms out? Nope they have their thumbs up you no where to even show their hands.

It is sad that the political divide in this country has only deepened.

The hatred from both sides pushes us farther and farther apart.

The left doesn't understand how some of their own, who previously had voted for hope and change yet, ended up out of work, near poverty, alienated, and yes, afraid, could ever vote for Trump.

Those on the right, remain so blind too Trump's self-centered, self-aggrandizing and self-promoting hate filled and divisive words, that they don't even realize he does not possess even a scintilla of Goldwater/Reagan conservative thought or ideology.

Both sides, reflected here by Yonk and his opposing posters, have become so entrenched in their tunnel vision, trapped by their lack of expanded sight, that they are mired and consumed by, and within, their own vitriolic and pathetic bubbles.

The self-reliant, individual identity of American fell ill with the great depression. It was that period of time which proved and inspired the belief that individual ideals and dreams had to be at least partially subjugated for the collective good of society.

Unfortunately, there are those who are convinced that government is the all encompassing problem and there are those convinced government is the sole answer - and sadly, because of blind rage on both sides, a compromise in which the two may merge, in which many will mostly likely benefit, will probably never occur.
