“I was glad to see that the officer involved in the murder of George Floyd was arrested. I believe in the right to protest and will defend it at all times. That right ends though when it turns to lawlessness. We should never tolerate people destroying buildings, hurting people, and damaging communities.
Lawlessness is bad for all of us. AG Shapiro and Governor Wolf have not done nearly enough to stop these riots, and their inaction has put our law enforcement officers in a terribly difficult position. This is a failure of leadership from the top. Our communities, our cities, and our state deserve better from our leaders. We have now had two consecutive nights of rioting and criminal behavior and yet, we have not seen any effective actions from our Governor or Attorney General to head-off this growing crisis. The people who live and work in Philadelphia deserve better than this total failure.”
Heather Heidelbaugh is the sole candidate running for the Republican nomination for Attorney General. A trial attorney with more than 35 years of courtroom experience, Heidelbaugh previously served as a committeewoman at-large on Allegheny County Council and is currently a partner at her Pittsburgh law firm.
