IMPEACHING BIDEN  WITH A IMPOTENT GOP CONGRESS WHO HAVE A BIG FAT

Shouldn’t even be dignifying this nonsense but the Republican attempt to Impeach President Biden is akin to little children throwing a tantrum. They have no evidence but will try to find some.

This is like ticketing a parked car in a driveway and citing the driver for offenses that may be committed once they get the proof.

This GOP Congress has produced a big fat zero for the American people. They couldn’t settle on a Speaker but after 15 tries they got one.

Then when that Speaker didn’t kiss their lily white bigoted asses because he worked with Democrats to fund the government, they threw him out.

After not finding a new one, they settled on a guy who essentially did the same thing McCarthy did. They have held foreign policy hostage by harping about the border (something they could have fixed years ago when Boener was Speaker and had willing partners) to not fund Ukraine or Israel.

Their excuse is they have a slim majority which will decrease in 2024. Nancy Pelosi had the same small majority and did this:

Landmark gun violence prevention measures.

Legislation to expand educational opportunities while reforming the financial aid system.

Legislation to provide health care for eleven million American children.

New protections against hate crimes.

An increase in the minimum wage for the first time in a decade.

The largest college aid expansion since the GI bill.

New funding to address PFAS forever chemicals.

A new GI education bill for veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Increased services for veterans, caregivers and the Veterans Administration.

This GOP Congress now wants to impeach Biden. They need to be voted OUT.

HUNTER HUNTED

Hunter Biden is not running for anything.

Yet the GOP attack machine has been after him for 6 years. He called their bluff. He said he’s testify in public. The cowardly shriveled up GOP kiddie peeing in the pool scaredy cats want it in private to spout their lies. Here’s Hunter’s dare which proves with all of his faults, he’s more of a man then they’ll ever be.

SIR, MY BABY IS STILLBORN, MAY I END THIS PREGNANCY SIR?

The recent decisions by state courts in Texas and Kentucky prove what Civil Rights activists knew back in the day regarding having individual states decide big issues: THEY’LL REVERT TO FORM.

That’s why the Civil Rights bills of ’64, 65 and 68 were federal laws. The Dobbs decision put the ball back in the court of the states and now those reactionary sexist states are making women, mothers of children who are now having a medically challenged pregnancy BEG for care from a doctor.

The Supreme Court has taken the discretion of doctors away so they won’t dare mention the A word to a woman.

The fact that women in certain states need to ask permission from a court is abhorrent making mothers second class citizens.

Any woman who votes Republican is a traitor to her sex. This administration has stood with women on this issue. It is time for all women to stand with Biden and the Democrat party.

REPS. CARTWRIGHT, ROGERS INTRODUCE BIPARTISAN BILL TO STRENGTHEN RURAL COMMUNITIES

Congressman Matt Cartwright (Photo: LuLac archives)

, U.S. Representatives Matt Cartwright (D-PA-08) and Hal Rogers (R-KY-05) introduced the Transforming Hiring in Rural Industries and Vital Economies (THRIVE) Act, legislation that would strengthen and create new economic opportunities in rural areas.

This bipartisan bill would permanently establish a federal interagency council to coordinate investment in our nation’s rural areas, ensuring that the federal government maximizes its investments in rural communities. The council would be directed to ensure that federal dollars go towards a wide range of needs of rural communities, including conservation of agricultural and working lands to improve soil quality, improvement of online educational resources for teachers and students, strengthening rural broadband, improvements to transportation, and other key priorities.

“Rural communities deserve a seat at the table,” said Rep. Cartwright. “I’m proud to join my Republican colleague Representative Hal Rogers in this bipartisan effort to make sure that the federal government gives rural communities every opportunity for growth and economic development.”

“Rural America deserves a prominent council in Washington that will advocate for the incredible workforce, natural resources and abundance of opportunities we have to offer,” said Rep. Hal Rogers, Dean of the House. “I’m pleased that this legislation will bring together key decisionmakers to prioritize rural needs across various federal agencies to ensure investments are maximized for the benefit of our communities most in-need. I’m honored to join my friend across the aisle, Congressman Cartwright, to champion this important legislation for our rural regions."

Co-sponsors in the U.S. House are U.S. Reps. Hal Rogers (R-KY-05), Sanford Bishop (D-GA-02), Jim Costa (D-CA-21), Rick Crawford (R-AK-01), Chellie Pingree (D-ME-01), and Bennie Thompson (D-MS-02).

CASEY, DELAURO INTRODUCE LEGISLATION TO LEVEL PLAYING FIELD BETWEEN TENANTS AND LANDLORDS

IN LATE SUMMER AND EARLY FALL OF 2023, OVER 3 MILLION PEOPLE THOUGHT THEY WERE AT LEAST SOMEWHAT LIKELY TO FACE EVICTION OR FORECLOSURE IN THE NEXT TWO MONTHS

Senator Bob Casey (Photo: LuLac archives)

U.S. Senator Bob Casey and U.S. Representative Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-3) introduced the Eviction Prevention Act to tackle rising housing instability by connecting low-income tenants with legal representation and enabling federal agencies to better track eviction cases.

“Far too many Americans are at an increased risk of eviction and homelessness because they don’t have access to legal representation to help them and advocate for them,” said Senator Casey. “This bill will help families stay housed and level the playing field between tenants and landlords. It’s past time we devoted more federal resources to helping families in Pennsylvania and across the Nation keep a roof over their heads.”

“It cannot be understated how devastating an eviction can be for individuals or families.” said Congresswoman DeLauro. “I understand it very well, as my family and I were evicted when I was growing up. Eviction turned our world upside down, and I know all too well how it can completely upend someone’s life. That is why I am so proud to introduce the Eviction Prevention Act with Senator Casey, legislation that will help individuals facing eviction get connected with legal counsel that can help them and their families stay housed. My home state of Connecticut has already enacted a Right to Counsel and in just a short amount of time, we have kept people in their home. The Eviction Prevention Act would build on this success and expand this critically needed program nationwide.”

“The National Housing Law Project is pleased to endorse Representative DeLauro and Senator Casey’s Eviction Prevention Act. The US affordable housing crisis is reaching a fever pitch, and evictions have risen above pre-pandemic levels. As renters navigate this dangerous market, they increasingly face rent gauging, significant rent burden, and frequent and unjust evictions. And they are taking on these challenges without adequate representation in housing court,” said Shamus Roller, Executive Director of the National Housing Law Project. “The Eviction Prevention Act would authorize new grants to provide representation to tenants, create the nation’s first federal evictions database, and generate a government report on the evictions landscape in America. The bill is essential to understanding the depth of our evictions crisis and necessary to reduce future evictions.

“Even before the pandemic, millions of the lowest-income and most marginalized households were just one financial shock away from falling behind on their rent, losing their homes, and, in worst cases, experiencing homelessness. Today, many of these same households are even more precariously housed,” said Diane Yentel, president and CEO of the National Low Income Housing Coalition. “The long-standing eviction crisis – which predominantly harms Black women – underscores the need for both urgent action and long-term solutions, including the ‘Eviction Prevention Act’ from Representative DeLauro and Senator Casey.”

The Eviction Prevention Act would address the rise in housing instability by providing state and local governments grant funding to hire attorneys to represent very low-income tenants during eviction proceedings. A study of Philadelphia eviction cases filed between 2012 and 2017 found that tenants with representation were forcibly displaced from their homes in 5% of cases, compared with 78% for unrepresented tenants. The bill would also create a national eviction database to help the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) better track eviction cases and mandate reports on the limitations of the legal system for tenants experiencing eviction.

The legislation is endorsed by National Low Income Housing Coalition, National Coalition for a Civil Right to Counsel, National League of Cities, Public Justice, A Way Home America, Community Legal Services Philadelphia, the Connecticut Fair Housing Center, and True Colors United.

GOVERNOR SHAPIRO SIGNS EXECUTIVE ORDER REESTABLISHING THE PENNSYLVANIA EARLY LEARNING INVESTMENT COMMISSION

EARLY LEARNING INVESTMENT COMMISSION BRINGS TOGETHER LEADERS FROM THE SHAPIRO ADMINISTRATION AND BUSINESS COMMUNITY TO DEVELOP A STRATEGIC PLAN TO INCREASE INVESTMENT IN EARLY LEARNING FOR PENNSYLVANIA CHILDREN.

oday at the Pennsylvania Early Learning Investment Commission’s (ELIC) 2023 Annual Meeting, Governor Josh Shapiro signed Executive Order 2023-22 reinvigorating the ELIC under his Administration to continue the public-private partnership that brings together leaders to make recommendations and policy for early learning.

Under this Executive Order, Governor Shapiro will appoint and direct a diverse group of business leaders, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to work with senior leaders in his Administration to develop a comprehensive strategic plan to create a sustainable pipeline of childcare workers, ensure the availability of universal pre-K to all children, and expand all-day kindergarten throughout the Commonwealth.

First established in 2002 by Governor Mark Schweiker as the Governor’s Task Force on Early Childhood Care and Education, the task force was renamed and established as the ELIC by Governor Ed Rendell in 2008. Governors Corbett and Wolf both reestablished the ELIC under their Administrations – and with today’s Executive Order signing, Governor Shapiro continues the bipartisan effort from Governors of the past two decades to highlight the importance of investing in early learning and continuing to develop a sustainable system of early care and education to support Pennsylvania’s economic and workforce development.

“For more than 20 years – since Governor Schweiker commissioned the Governor’s Task Force on Early Childhood Care and Education – Governors of both parties and business leaders from across the Commonwealth have been coming together to explore real, tangible steps we can take to ensure our kids get the education they deserve and our parents have the support they need,” said Governor Josh Shapiro. “I am glad to reaffirm our shared commitment to that work and look forward to working with this diverse groups of leaders to develop new and innovative ways to invest in early learning and childcare.”

Governor Shapiro believes that the early learning, development, and education of Pennsylvania children is critically important to Pennsylvania families, the education system, workers, employers, and the economy – and today’s Executive Order will continue the Commonwealth’s fostering of public and private sector investment in connecting existing workforce development initiatives with early learning practices by reestablishing the ELIC to continue this critical work.

Executive Order 2023-22 aims to help the Commonwealth coordinate with business and civic leaders and organizations in early learning advocate for investment at the state and local level by directing the ELIC to develop and recommend a plan and implementation strategy. As part of the plan and implementation strategy, the ELIC must formalize recommendations to:

Stabilize the early childcare workforce and increase access to affordable, available, and accessible childcare for all Pennsylvania families, regardless of income.

Ensure the availability of universal pre-K for Pennsylvania children.

Expand the availability of all-day kindergarten in all Pennsylvania public school districts and charter schools.

Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis will be the honorary new co-chair of the ELIC, joining Stephanie Doliveira, Executive Vice President of People and Culture at Sheetz.

“As a new dad, I’m seeing firsthand how important those first years of a child’s life are for their development. I’ve also seen firsthand how expensive it is and how challenging it can be to find high-quality care for your kids. You don’t get a do-over on those first five years,” said Lieutenant Governor Davis. “They set your children up for success academically, emotionally, socially and more. Investments in high-quality childcare pay dividends for the rest of their lives. This issue is incredibly important to me and my family, just as it is for parents across the Commonwealth, so I’m honored to be asked by Governor Shapiro to serve as co-chair of the Early Learning Investment Commission.”

“The Pennsylvania Early Learning Investment Commission is grateful and eager to work with Governor Shapiro’s Administration on cross-sector strategies advancing early learning delivered through affordable, quality childcare,” said Stephanie Doliveira, co-chair of the Pennsylvania Early Learning Investment Commission. “The benefits of which will be reflected in strong outcomes for working parents, businesses, and Pennsylvania’s economy.”
