1.   Why aren’t talk show hosts talking to many callers anymore?

 

A few things. First off there is a lot going on during a typical morning show. Plus, the news avalanche is bigger in terms of immediacy. Then there are the callers themselves. Many are confrontational, untruthful and not nuanced or original thinking. Many are redundant and spout Fox. In a way it gives the listener the opportunity to get the views of the host and/or hosts and cut down on the ignorance (in some cases) and give the listeners a better experience. God know they have enough diversity in thought on WILK.

 

2.   You predicted the first American Pope as well as the stunning success of the Blue Jays. Can you predict me some winning lottery numbers?

If Only.

 

3.   Do you find it disturbing that half the people in this country think that RKF Junior’s claims are true?

Absolutely.  Most of them forget the fact that many, many people died in the Pandemic. Measles are now on the rise and other diseases that were kept at bay through vaccines are on the rise.  Sad. But they’ll be the first ones to have a candlelight vigil if one of their own die and expect everybody else to have empathy.

 

4.   Whatever became of Beth Gilbert in Wilkes-Barre, she seemed to be the real deal?

 

Beth served two terms on Council, then went to the Bureau of Elections. I believe she is currently working at an Action Together advocacy group.

 

5.   How much are the tickets going for these baseball championship games?

 

I know that to see a Blue Jays came in the 500 section of the Rogers Center is about $500.00. On lower priced sits, about $450.00.

 

6.   Thoughts on Trump not getting the Nobel Peace Prize?

 

If everything in the Middle East sticks, I’ll give him credit. But to your point, the choice this year was very good. Plus the committee had a has very cogent reason for not giving him the prize. The man and leader disrupted the global stage and made things unsteady. And I wholeheartedly agree with that.

 

7.   Will the State budget ever get passed this year?

If the Republican Senate ever stopped obstructing things, yes. But the Governor has done his part. The state legislature in the House controlled by Democrats have done their job.   Typically, the GOP would rather obstruct than do what they are paid to do.

 

8.   Do you watch any morning Cable shows before work?

No, I have WVIA FM and WILK Radio on in the house. Then when I get to the gym, I listen to 740 AM out of Toronto, I do DVR Morning Joe but wind up not watching and then deleting it.

 

9.   Do you celebrate Columbus Day?

I celebrate EVERYTHING on this day. Chris, Indigenous people and even Canadian Thanksgiving. Not being politically correct, just covering my bases.

 

10.     Disappointed that the Guardians didn’t advance?

A little. After overcoming Detroit’s 15 game leads, I thought there would be more steam in them. But I’m happy they got in the equation.

 

11.     Why did you start a food section on LuLac?

Well, there is plenty to talk about.  Then there’s the RFK factor but the main reason is it can be a diversion. Also a way to give people an update on local spots as well as the cost nowadays.

 

12.    Can you imagine the world today if Merritt Garland had more balls than Pam Bondy? 

I have been writing this for years. Joe Biden's biggest mistake was appointing him as Attorney General. He was a Judge. They deliberate. They say "well on the other hand". They say, "this and that". He should have hired a prosecutor. A real prick who knew the danger in delaying any obvious prosecution that would have spared us Trump. 

What annoys me is that you and I KNOW THIS, but people sat the highest levers of power in the Biden administration making tons more money than us DIDN'T.  But it made a good meme anyway. 

 

13.     In one word what trait do you feel you were born and raised with?

Empathy.
