NO GREEN FOR ME

The very popular and accurate blog, pa2010.com. is reporting that Joe Sestak and the Dems are doing everything in their power to keep the Green Party off the ballot. They fear a third party challenge. Hey, if Arlen Specter were a few years younger,.....you never know. Anyway, here's what they reported: For the second time this cycle, Joe Sestak is trying to keep a potential spoiler candidate out of the electoral picture. The Democratic Senate candidate on Monday filed a ballot challenge against Mel Packer, the Green Party candidate running against him and Republican Pat Toomey. The lawsuit in Commonwealth Court seeks to have Packer’s nominating petitions set aside. As a liberal alternative to Sestak, Packer could presumably pull votes away from the Democrat in a close race against Toomey. Earlier this year, Sestak successfully kept businessman Joe Vodvarka off the primary ballot against Arlen Specter. In both cases, Sestak himself was the petitioner bringing the case. Politicians far more often put some public distance between themselves and the ballot challenge by having a supporter file on their behalf. Packer could not immediately be reached for comment late Monday afternoon. http://www.pa2010.com/

CHURCH ASSASSINATION

The Diocese of Scranton did it again recently to the Catholics of Greater Pittston. The robed ones tore down St. Mark’s Church in Inkerman. It was an easy job because the structure was a modest wood framed one. I never was in it but I worked with Monsignor Donald McAndrews when he was pastor there and I worked on a few United Way committees. The Church, home to many Catholics in the Inkerman/Sebastapol area now is rubble. Good job there preserving the history and heritage of the Catholic faith.

So first you were worked up about a Church BUILDING you hadn't called home for years, and now you're worked up about a Church BUILDING you never set foot in.

What about the FAITH that was nurtured in those buildings?

With your backhanded comments at the Church and its leadership, have you ever thought about the work you are doing tearing down the TRUE cornerstones of your (alleged) faith?

How to revive the Catholic Church:

1. Allow Priests/Nuns to date/marry.
2. Diligently bring any suspected pedophile priests/nuns into the sunlight, turning them over to law enforcement and not transferring them to another diocese.

End result, more parishoners, more respect for a religious organization that has no more hypocricy and no more razed churches.

I believe the church realizes the need for these reforms. Benedict was chosed as a "buying time" Pope at age 77. The next Pontiff shall be younger and more open minded. At least I hope so.

Bless YOU.
