PHOTO INDEX: MAKING THE DEAL.

DEAL ON THE WAY

President Barack Obama announced the parameters of a possible deal with Republicans on extending the Bush tax cuts, saying that he still strongly opposes the extension of cuts for the very wealthy. The President said that continuing a fight at the expense of the middle class would be "the wrong thing to do."
Obama said it was "abundantly clear" that Republicans will block a permanent extension of tax cuts for the middle class without an extension for top earners as well.
NBC's Chuck Todd, on MSNBC reports that the tentative deal calls for the following:
-- 2-year extension of ALL Bush-era tax rates
-- 13-month extension of unemployment insurance
-- 2 percentage point decrease in the payroll tax for one year.
The overall cost in lost revenue to the government is at least $450 billion in 2011 (or a tad higher than the yearly cost of the 2009 stimulus) and could climb as high as $600 billion depending on how much the economy grows over the next two years.
Read that last paragrapgh over again highlighted in green please. The GOP squealed like stuck pigs when the President passed a stimulus package that was in the billions. Everyone in the GOP voted against it. My question is, what’s the difference between last year and this year’s deal? We’re still raising the debt, we’re still borrowing and we’re still doing the same thing the GOP and the Tea Party people vilified the Democratic party for. Enlighten me and tell me what is the difference? Oh wait, I see, we’re taking care of the multi millionaires. Okay, got it.

LARRY AND JFK

Retiring talk show host Larry King told a funny story on
Jimmy Kimmell Live a few night ago. Evfen though Kimmell kind of ruined the story at the end, it's worth checking out:

I don't get this....the President has included as a part of this deal a reduction in the Social Security tax...how doesn't this put the retirement of Seniors even more on the chopping block??? I thought everyone was saying we have to SAVE Social Security. How does this improve that system's future? What a joke.

The Dems are the ones who couldn't get unanimity to get the unemployment passed. Until Jan. the republicans are irrelevant. Blame the dems.

In the WAR between the halves and the halve nots coming up in the United States, I will be on the side of the halve nots. No outside power will ever destroy our country
because we are doing it from within. Wait until the screaming hoardes from Scranton make their charge thru the notch and beyond into LA (lower abington) and all the way thru Clarks Summit to Waverly leaving a landscape similiar to Shermans March behind!
Its coming folks and the halves will be outnumbered 100 to 1. Watch out Waverly Bob we are soon to be on the way!
Or at least thats how it looks to me.

Obama is without a doubt the biggest disapointment I have ever suffered in national politics. The Republicans must be celebrating all over Washington knowing they have their own "boy" in the White House. How in the hell could any man show such a lack of balls and then try to justify it by saying he protected the working middle class? Screw Mitch McConnel and the tanned man from Ohio, screw them. Let them cut off unemployement checks to millions and then deal with the reaction. Now there is no problem, the Republicans made the threat and Obama blinked. He should resign right now and not cause us to lose anymore than we already have. Fug um!

The Deal is done the dice are cast
and now the President gets the flak
for a situation created by greed and war and an overall lack of courage from the Dems! You should have learned "Dont make promises you cant keep", Mr President. Now your stock will follow that of George the First who said, "Read my lips" and lost the next election
because people did and believed him. Obama and the gutless Democrats are well into finishing things off for the middle class and the Republicans rejoice! What a mess with the welfare of the country completely forgotten again.
The true unemployment figure counting all the unemployed is 20-25% and thats with many hustling everyday to get something, anything going. Two more years and then what?
