GRINAWAY EVENT

Wilkes Barre Area School Board candidate Kathy Grinaway had an event this afternoon. The day was beautiful and sunny outside but inside the Polish AmVets Club politics was heating up as the realization hit many people that we are about a month out from Election Day. Grinaway is running for the Wilkes Barre Area School Board on a platform of no nepotism, quality education and a good look at what the taxpayer money is actually buying students and parents in the District. Grinaway was joined by her family as well as a legion of supporters who really want to see some substantial change in the make up of the School Board. After a few indictments, resignations and the standard political garbage that is going on, Wilkes Barre Area voters just want representation without any drama on the board……Some of those attending Grinaway’s event was Ruth Hughes, wife of Judicial candidate Dick Hughes. Mrs. Hughes stopped by this event on the way to a Plains Pavilion event for her candidate husband…….Independent Rick Williams, a candidate for County Council also attended the event. Williams is a thoughtful candidate who recently came off a very successful fundraiser. Williams has been making the rounds and doing a lot of listening to people’s concerns about the new government that will begin three days after Election candidates are certified…..And by the way the cakes at the Grinaway event were something to die for according to my sister who also stopped by in support of Grinaway’s effort.

LAUREEN FOR SENATE

You hear her often on WILK Talk Radio, you know her as the founder of the Lackawanna County Tea Party. Today I found out that Laureen Cummings. is running as candidate for the U.S. Senate in the 2012 race. Incumbent Bob Casey Junior will be the presumed Democratic nominee. Cummings’ mantra is “Together We will Restore the Republic”. She is running on the following:
Repeal Obamacare
Balance and pass a budget
Stop the Spending
Stop Over Regulation
Immediate Tax Reform
Energy Independence
Accountability
Cummings is a Republican committee woman from Old Forge, Owner of Lorimar Home Care and Staffing since 1999 and was the 2003 Businesswoman of the Year named so by the National Republican Congressional Business Advisory Council. Many of her campaign workers are circulating at area events with TEAM LAUREEN shirts getting the word out.

I like her ideas and I like her name. The Lady looks like a winner to me.

Kathy Grinaway is going to add a better dimension to the Wilkes Barre School Board. She has no ties to the district or the political power structure. We need a different perspective and input on the board. I'm going for her. Keep in mind she came very, very close to getting in office in the Spring. The WB Area District needs to say no to cronyism.
