The LuLac Edition #1827, November 7th, 2011

Wilkes Barre Democratic Mayor Tom Leighton.

Candidates for Mayor Republican Lisa Cope and Libertarian Betsy Summers.

WB MAYOR’S FORUM

Since there is less than a day before the Election, we thought it would be a good idea to post the Wilkes Barre Mayor’s Forum on our site. We took this off of You Tube and this is courtesy of the Times Leader. I had attempted to locate it last week but was unsuccessful. The Forum will give voters an idea of what the three candidates stand for and how they conduct themselves in public. The microphone quality is not the best but that’s not the paper’s fault but rather the way the debate was set up by Wilkes. Hope this helps you make a decision and as always we always welcome your comments.

ANTI O’BRIEN AD

Bill Jones who seems to lone the only serious Republican in the race for Lackawanna County Commissioner ran this ad this weekend attacking incumbent Commissioner Corey O’Brien. Take a look.

CALL OF DUTY

I am really offended by the X Box 360 commercial for a game called “Call of Duty”. Call me an old fart but I think this game is an insult to all of the soldiers who are actually in the line of fire and coming into harm’s way. War is not a game and I think the brain dead idiots who sell this stuff and the people that buy them should be called upon to pay a “war” tax of ten bucks. All the proceeds would go to injured and recuperating soldiers that got limbs blown off for real and not in some lame ass fantasy world of make believe explosions.

I can not believe Cope had to read all of her answers. Summers is the best alternative to Leighton. Did she really say she would hire by lottery? wow

Like the woman said herself, if you don't vote for Leighton, you will have a city run by lottery. I think a test should be administered before people are allowed to be on the ballot.
