The LuLac Edition #1832, November 11th, 2011

Veteran's Day.

TAPS LYRICS-At every military funeral, this work is played. Here are the lyrics.

Taps

Day is done, gone the sun,
From the lake, from the hills, from the sky;
All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.
Fading light, dims the sight,
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright.
From afar, drawing nigh, falls the night.
Thanks and praise, for our days,
'Neath the sun, 'neath the stars, neath the sky;
As we go, this we know, God is nigh.
Sun has set, shadows come,
Time has fled, Scouts must go to their beds
Always true to the promise that they made.
While the light fades from sight,
And the stars gleaming rays softly send,
To thy hands we our souls, Lord, commend.

A tip of the hat to APPLEBEE'S for doing their part in honoring Vets and Active Duty Military people. Free meal today to any of them. You don't see that too often!

Kate Smith and her song was played so much it inspired Woody Guthrie to write "This Land is Your Land" because he felt a response was necessary! I agree. Next time give Woody's tune a try, please.

I have three good reasons to vote Republican:
1 they all worship God
2 they are all Patriots
3 I cant remember the third

Oops!

"It aint over till the Fat Lady Sings..." and she damn sure belted that one out! It played all through the War. I think they played it at ballparks. I was just a boy, but remember the song everywhere.
