WRITE ON WEDNESDAY

Government should help America's unemployed
This week there was a brief letter to the editor regarding unemployment benefits for Americans. The writer made some good points as to who we spend money on and who we don’t.
Editor:
For many of us who have lost their jobs and can't find a new job, it's devastating. To make things worse, the Senate failed to pass an extension on our unemployment.
When our government can give millions away to other countries yet turn their backs on the people who voted for them, it's very disheartening.
With all this going on, did it stop the utility companies, the cable company and our towns from raising their rates and taxes?
I would like to know if they are aware of our financial problems and where do they expect us to come up with money for these increases.
So many people in this area are selling their homes because they just can't afford to pay for their upkeep.
What do we do and where and who do we go to for help?
It sure isn't our government.
Instead of going forward, we are going backwards.
Let's create jobs for all Americans and be less dependent on China's goods.
All tapped out.

Dear Mary,

Why are you expecting someone else to do anything to help you?

Are your stuck in Dallas? What skills and talents do you have that are worth something to someone?

Do you think moving to a state that has an economy will help? North Dakota has a kick@ss economy that my cousin says is ripe for workers.

Who'd you vote for? The guy who wants to kill the coal industry? That's important my dear. You are near the area where the gas drilling is happening. Watch closely and make sure you don't vote for the slugs who want to kill that golden goose.

It is up to you Mary.
