1. What do you think od my new nickname for Trump? It’s “two-week Trump.”
I can’t argue with it. The Ukraine/Russian summit…two weeks. The tariffs…. two weeks. That is his default.
2. I am very worried about drones over Poland. Is that something we need to watch?
We should be. This was the first time since World War II that there was any aggressive action against a NATO country. But Trump will let us know what he thinks about it in “two weeks.”
3. How was that John Oates concert in Wilkes-Barre?
Really good. He telegraphed right at the start that he’d be playing some Hall and Oates music but was going to introduce some of his own music. At the age of 77 he still has it, and the crowd was pleased. Oates is a prolific song writer with titles like “She’s Gone,” “Sara Smile,” “Man Eater,” “Out of Touch,” “Can’t Go for That” and many more.
4. Are you going to be on media anytime soon?
I will be on the air on WVIA FM Tuesday September 16th from 7am to 11am helping with their pledge drive.
5. What did you think of the Kelce/Swift announcement of their engagement?
Inevitable. Classy and well planned. Look Kelce, unlike many men of his generation made the right moves. He had a strategy, and my experience has taught me that women like and respect a strategy.
6. I don’t see many yard signs for candidates in this election cycle. Is that typical of off year elections?
Yes sadly.
7. What is Tim Horton’s and are we in LuLac land going to get one?
Horton’s is a Canadian multinational coffeehouse and restaurant chain with headquarters in Toronto; it serves coffee, donuts, sandwiches, breakfast egg muffins, and other fast-food items. It is Canada's largest quick-service restaurant chain, with 5,701 restaurants in 14 countries, as of September 2023.
The company was founded in 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario, by Canadian ice hockey player Tim Horton (1930–1974) and Jim Charade (1934–2009). The Wendy's Company merged with Tim Hortons in 1995 and operated it under their flagship subsidiary until 2006.
On August 26, 2014, Burger King agreed to merge with Tim Hortons for US$11.4 billion. The two chains became subsidiaries of Toronto-based holding company Restaurant Brands International on December 15, 2014. No word on anything resembling Tim Horton’s coming to this area.
8. What did you think of the spitting incident in the first few minutes of football season?
Totally inappropriate and dumb. And the guy lost money which should teach him a real lesson.
9. What are your thoughts on J.B. Pritzker of Illinois?
I always like his style. He reminds me of Nelson Rockefeller who was a liberal New York Republican Governor in the 60s. Straight forward, doesn’t take any crap from anyone and really, really has a style that resonates with real people.
10. Do you think there will be a primary challenge to Senator Fetterman?
You bet! They’re already lining up for ’28.
11. Will the Yankees return to the World Series this year?
Too tough to say because the playoff system in the majors is really challenging. Anything can happen in a playoff game and usually does. My eyes are on Toronto though.
12. I heard through the grapevine that you are having dreams about Caitlin Clarke. True?
13. So, you’re doing your own memes now?
Why not? Everyone else is.
