FAT TROOPS

FROM TEXAS:

SAYONARA

Maybe he thought here were all 6’2 and 230 pounds like him, but Trump had Texas National Guard members on alert in Chicago.  National Guard members have been replaced after they were found to not meet military weight standards.

The Texas Military Department told us in a statement, "During the pre-mission validation process, the Texas National Guard identified and replaced seven service members who did not meet mission requirements. These service members were returned to home station."

200 Texas National Guardsmen were sent to the Windy City to assist protecting ICE officers.

"The Texas National Guard echoes Secretary Hegseth's message to the force, 'Our standards will be high, uncompromising, and clear,'" said the Texas Military Department.

Well if standards were so high, Again under this administration, it’s FIRE, AIM, READY.

AIRPORTS

SAY NO TO

NOEM

Airports big and small around the country are refusing to play a video with a message from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in which she blames Democrats for the federal government shutdown and its impacts on Transportation Security Administration operations.

Airports in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, Charlotte, Phoenix, Seattle and more say the video’s political content goes against their policies or regulations prohibiting political messaging in their facilities.

Various government agencies, in emails to workers and on websites, have adopted language that blames Democrats for the shutdown. Some experts argue it could be in violation of the 1939 Hatch Act, which restricts certain political activities by federal employees.

The shutdown has disrupted routine operations at some airports, leading to flight delays. Democrats say any deal to reopen the government has to address their health care demands, and Republicans say they won’t negotiate until they agree to fund the government. Some medical insurance premiums would double if Congress fails to renew the subsidy payments that expire Dec. 31.

In the video, Noem says the TSA’s “top priority” is to help make travel pleasant and efficient while keeping passengers safe.

“However, Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government, and because of this, many of our operations are impacted, and most of our TSA employees are working without pay,” she continues.

The TSA falls under the Department of Homeland Security. Roughly 61,000 of the agency’s 64,130 employees are required to continue working during the shutdown.

A reminder to the collagen queen, you guys have the House, Senate and White House. Your side had 6 months to meet and DIDN ‘T.

GET OVER YOURSELF!   Most of America already did.

KIRK BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE:

TRUMP: ALL ABOUT ME

An odd occurrence during Charlie Kirk’s Birthday/Medal of Honor ceremony raised some eyebrows. Trump referred to his own assassination attempt seeming to say that he was lucky and Kirk was not. True but not the time and place to make it about himself.

TRUMP’s 17

TRILLION  DOLLAR LIE

The AP reports that President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed he has secured “$17 trillion” in investment this year – or even more than that.

“We have over $17 trillion being invested now in the United States,” Trumptold reportersat the White House on Tuesday. He added moments later, We have more than $17 trillion in eight months. On Friday, he said he thought the figure had “just cracked $18 trillion.”

But even the $17 trillion figure is fictional.

Take a look at this wish list comprised by AP and CNN:

The White House list doesn’t show that $8.8 trillion is “being invested now in the United States” or even that there have been $8.8 trillion in credible Trump-era commitments to make eventual investments in the US. Rather, the White House list includes:

·         $600 billion from “EU firms” even though the European Union has made clear that this is merely an estimate of potential private investment, not an actual commitment

·         $600 billion from Saudi Arabia even though the Saudis’ vague $600 billion pledge encompasses both “investments and trade,” not simply Saudi investment in the US

·         $500 billion from India even though the two countries have said the $500 billion is a goal for “bilateral trade,” not Indian investment in the US

·         $1.2 trillion from Qatar even though the White House previously announced that Trump’s agreement with Qatar is to generate $1.2 trillion in “economic exchange” between the US and Qatar, not for Qatar to invest $1.2 trillion in the US

·         $1.4 trillion from the United Arab Emirates even though this is a vague pledge more than double the size of the UAE’s gross domestic product

·         $1 trillion from Japan even though Japan’s actual pledge is $550 billion (and Japan insists that even this smaller amount will overwhelmingly be made up of loans and loan guarantees, not equity investment)

·         $450 billion from South Korea even though South Korea made a $350 billion pledge that is in limbo amid tensions with the US (South Korea also promised to increase its US energy purchases to $100 billion, not to add $100 billion in additional energy purchases)

·         More than $1 trillion in vague corporate pledges that analysts say likely include normal operational spending and previously planned investments

The White House declined to comment on why the president keeps saying he has gotten “$17 trillion” in investment instead of the White House’s own “$8.8 trillion” figure, and it would not comment on the record to address CNN’s specific questions about the many holes in the “$8.8 trillion” figure.  The Trump administration criticized the report calling nitpicking and pedantic.

Let’s call it BULLSHIT.

BRESNEHAN’S TOWN

HALL MEETINGS

: Last week, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. hosted a telephone town hall to update Pennsylvania’s Eighth Congressional District of the current government shutdown. Over 15,000 constituents tuned in to learn how the shutdown could affect their daily lives and where to turn for help.

“This shutdown means delayed services, missed paychecks, and growing uncertainty, especially for the over 10,000 federal workers in our district who are reporting to work without pay,” said Rep. Bresnahan. “Let me be clear: I voted to keep the government open and protect essential services for working families, seniors, and veterans. I will continue to advocate for Northeastern Pennsylvania, and our team will continue to do all we can to help those affected by the shutdown.”

During the event, Rep. Bresnahan provided updates on the status of negotiations in Washington and answered constituent questions ranging from Social Security and veterans’ benefits to how this affects our troops to what is still accessible during shutdown. It was also reiterated on the call that Rep. Bresnahan’s Washington, D.C., and district offices remain fully open and available to assist constituents throughout the shutdown.

On Tuesday he had another. Not in person of course.  on the 14th day of the Republican shutdown, he held his second telephone town hall of the month to update constituents on the ongoing government shutdown. 13,000 constituents from across Northeastern Pennsylvania tuned in to ask questions and hear directly from Rep. Bresnehan.

First off, Brenehan and his Congressional cohorts had 6 months to come to the table. They didn’t because the Speaker sent them home.

It’s all well and good that Rob has a working vacation, but  we’d feel better if he didn’t go all Chris Montez us.

In the meantime, despite his numbers, other people are saying this.

MAN WHO SET FIRE TO PA. GOVERNOR'S MANSION SENTENCED TO 25-50 YEARS AFTER PLEADING GUILTY

The man accused of firebombing the Pennsylvania Governor's Mansion while Gov. Josh Shapiro and his family were asleep earlier this year pleaded guilty Tuesday, Oct. 14, to attempted murder, aggravated arson and terrorism charges and will spend 25 to 50 years in prison.
Harrisburg resident Cody Balmer, 38, entered the guilty plea as part of a plea deal with prosecutors during Tuesday's hearing before Dauphin County Common Pleas Judge Deborah E. Curcillo.
"This is a just outcome," Shapiro, standing beside his wife, Lori, said during a news conference shortly after the hearing. "I want you to know that our family fully supported the plea that (Dauphin County District Attorney Francis Chardo) negotiated."
Balmer is accused of setting the blaze to Shapiro's residence on the night of April 13. The fire caused extensive damage to the first floor, but no one was injured. Balmer, authorities have said, accessed the home through a fence in the back of the property and was intending to strike Shapiro with a sledgehamme

MANTLE COMES TO

WILKES-BARRE

Since October is baseball month, we look back 40 years ago to the weekend of October 4th when Mickey Mantle came to Coal Street Park for a card show. The Mick was obtained through Diamond Legends owned at that time by Don Boyle, Debbie Boyle and Frank Martin. Mantle charged $8.00 an autograph on anything you wanted signed.  This was 10 years before his death. Before he passed away Mantle’s autograph was going for $100.00 a show.

The day before the event, Mantle was in Toronto doing broadcast color for a game. He flew into Philadelphia and was transported to Wilkes-Barre via a small puddle jumper.

The promoters even got Mickey a cake for his birthday in October. Here I am escorting him in with said pastry,

Mantle turned the charm on his fans here but behind the scenes there was drama going on between his manager and other New York jaspers who were taking advantage of The Mick. During the weekend, the number of autographs were counted. After that, Mantle stayed with his business iness manager. Diamond Legends had nothing to do with that but a lifelong dream of spending time with a boyhood idol was realized by many area baseball fans who spent a few minutes with Mickey Mantle and that week in 1985 the number one song in LuLac land and America was “Money For Nothing” by Dire Straits.
