THE "Y DRIVE"

This week as the "Y DRIVE" returns, we take a look at a community event for an on going project, the building of the White Haven Community Library.

A TASTE OF WHITE HAVEN

Looking for something to do next Saturday night? Take a drive out to the community of White Haven and get a taste of the fine eating places in White Haven. Also get a good dose of community enthusiasm for the building of their library. These folks have been working at building a community library housed in the old railroad roundhouse. My dad and uncles walked through that building when the trains ran through that community. Seeing the old bolding now being restored to a community place of learning was a pretty fascinating thing for me to witness. Because of Mrs. LuLac’s job, I’ve been attending many events in that town as the community endeavors to restore the building. The event next Saturday night will go a long way in reaching that goal. Too bad Governor Ed has money to throw around for sports stadiums but can’t come up with money for this community that has been at this for more than a dozen years.
Cost is $20.00 in advance, $25.00 at the door. Folks, this is a great evening of great food, fun and community volunteerism. It’s at St. Patrick’s school in the town. For more information call 570-406-0558.

in all fairness State Rep Todd Eachus has been doing his part to help with the Library project.

Read the website for the Library and you will see just how much PA STATE money has come to this project thanks to Eachus, other state officials and County funds.
