POLL QUESTION

Last week’s poll question was quite revealing on how people feel about the political parties. In the 1976 Vice Presidential debate GOP nominee Bob Dole was criticized for calling the Decorates “The War Party”. After Jimmy Carter’s Presidency, under the Reagan and Bush administrations, the GOP got the reputation of being the tough guy in the new world order. After 911, the initial actions of the Bush administration demonstrated the commitment to keeping America safe. The Democratic Party has always had a hard time convincing folks that they are the party of action when it comes to keeping America safe. This modest poll bears that thinking out.

NEW POLL QUESTIONS

The campaign for Governor is heating up in the state. Commercials are running on TV and the party faithful is banding together on both the Democratic and Republican side to do battle. Our question this week hopefully will provide a snapshot of public sentiment on this race.

Our second question centers on the outgoing Governor Ed Rendell who was elected twice by huge margins in 2002 and 2006. What do people think of Governor Rendell now?
